Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 40 minutes

Servings: 16 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 cans (16.3 ounces each) of large refrigerated flaky biscuits (8 count)
  • 2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 20 slices pepperoni, halved
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce plus additional marinara sauce, warmed
  •  Torn fresh basil leaves, optional

Directions

  1. Preheat the Oven
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Oil Mixture
    • Combine the first four ingredients (oil, seasoning, etc., as specified in the full recipe) in a large microwave-safe bowl.
    • Cover the bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Let the mixture cool slightly.
  3. Cut and Coat the Biscuits
    • Cut each biscuit into four pieces. Add the biscuit pieces to the oil mixture, tossing to coat evenly.
  4. Add Cheeses and Pepperoni
    • Mix in the cheeses and pepperoni, ensuring all pieces are well combined.
  5. Assemble in the Pan
    • Spray a heavy 10-inch fluted tube pan with cooking spray.
    • Layer half of the biscuit mixture in the pan and drizzle with 1/4 cup marinara sauce.
    • Repeat the layers with the remaining biscuit mixture and marinara sauce.
  6. Bake the Bread
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Cool and Remove from Pan
    • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edges of the pan and the center tube to loosen.
    • Carefully invert the bread onto a serving plate.
  8. Serve and Garnish
    • Serve with additional marinara sauce on the side. If desired, top with torn fresh basil, extra grated Parmesan cheese, and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
