FAA seeks $3.1 million in fines from Boeing over safety violations, 2024 midair panel blowout

The Federal Aviation Administration is seeking $3.1 million in fines from Boeing over safety violations, including an incident in January last year where an Alaska Airlines jetliner lost a door plug panel on its fuselage in midflight. No one was seriously injured, and the plane landed safely. The agency said Friday that the proposed penalty covers violations from September 2023 through February 2024. FedEx cargo plane makes emergency landing following bird strike and engine fire

A FedEx cargo plane had to make an emergency landing at a busy New Jersey airport after a bird strike caused an engine fire that could be seen in the morning sky. A spokesperson for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says the plane landed at Newark Liberty International Airport just after 8 a.m. on Saturday during the emergency.
